First off, i want to start out by saying that we walked away from this completely unharmed, just sore. I know that many people may see all of the safety tech requirements as tedious and unnecessary… but this crash happened during a transition ive done 100+ times. Half a second too early or too late, and you’re in the grass going about 80mph head on into a tree. In my opinion, and as this crash has shown, a cage made of the correct material and with proper geometry and attachment points, along with anti-intrusion bars are a must for road racing of any kind. These “last step of the process” bars (anti intrusion bars) absolutely saved my legs and the legs of my passenger and should never be overlooked. Also.,I know that tech rules say drivers must have a hans device OR halo seat. Do me a favor and please just have BOTH. I hope this message finds the drivers not only at e town, but drivers who drive in any form of motorsport. Thank you to @accuratefabricationllc and other fabricators for offering a service that keeps us safe. DO NOT OVERLOOK SAFETY. If i had overlooked the safety requirements, i know that my passenger and i would not have walked away from this without serious injury. PLEASE BE SAFE, i care about every single one of you.

(Viewer discretion is advised) Back in November my friend @kyle_supko crashed his s14 head on into a tree going 80-90 mph. Kyle had the proper safety equipment in his car, including a roll cage, bucket seats, and harnesses. He has drifted this track, doing the same lap at least 100 times. It was muscle memory for him. But, accidents can still happen and unfortunately one did.
After the accident Kyle called me and it was one of those calls where you get chills. I could hear and feel it in his voice how thankful he was that him and his passenger were able to walk away from the wreck (a little banged up, but not seriously injured) because of the roll cage in that car.
We caged that car 4 years ago and he has always been a huge supporter of Accurate, a good friend, and has referred other drivers to us over time. I knew from that moment I wanted to gift him a new cage for free in a new chassis whenever he was ready. Kyle is a great dude and what had happened was truly unfortunate. Fast forward to today and I just completed the new Cage for his S14. It’s pretty cool to see how good the original cage was, and yet still how much better the cages have become over the years. I can’t wait to see him get the new car swapped and ready for the track next season! !!!New car pics start at slide 6!!!
