This is a recording of my original composition “La Sangre Te Llama”. This composition represents my recent journey of diving deeper into my Puerto Rican heritage/cultural roots through the many beautiful folkloric musical styles from the island. This being a Plena: an Afro-Puerto Rican musical genre often connected to resistance and social commentary. I’m happy I was able to debut this composition of mine at my senior recital as even though my recital represents an end to one era of my life this composition represents a start to a new one.
