Coming at 7am this Saturday is the 1998/99 Uncle Tobys Super Series - Round 4 Triple Sprint at Portsea.
Sun was out, surf was big, and @clayto76 and @ky_hurst were at their best.
Between them they had won the first 3 rounds and round 4 was a battle between them both again.
Phil was back after a year off and was the only one who looked to be able to match Ky. Crazy to think Ky was still a junior U18 competitor at this time.

Swim leg is at a premium this weekend for the @shawandpartnersironseries Final, and here’s a man who did it better than anyone in history.
@ky_hurst , 1997/98 season for @manlylsc at Aussies.
That year in the Open Taplin Final at Aussies, Ky, aged 16 or 17, swam in Manly’s Open Taplin team. In the final, he went into the water with Olympian Deane Pieters and @craig.hacky.hackett in around 7th, 8th. He swam through the field to first, got a wave and hit the beach 50m in front of 2nd.
The Manly team finished 2nd to Northcliffe that day.

A weekend down south in Tassie! Surf club kids from all around came to Burnie for a weekend of surf clinics, @kamanacommunity workshop, Iron Ocean Racing and a Sunday ocean swim. What a great part of the world - beautiful coastline, good people and delicious food 🍓 🌊 🐧
