Hi everyone, Have Hope, Maxwell's, ESAD REKZ, & the KWPRFM are disgusted and saddened by the news of rising anti-queer rhetoric in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. We want to remind everyone that we are vehemently against bigotry in all forms and have a zero-tolerance policy in place at our events for it. Having reached out to affected parties, we stand firmly with our friends and family in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We call to action that we, as a shared arts community, must protect them. In light of recent incidents, we are enhancing our security measures for the event at the end of November. Though there is no known threat against our market, punk is inherently queer, and we must protect our neighbours in the community from hate. No one should feel unsafe at any event. IF you are feeling unsafe at any event in the KW region, please immediately seek an event organizer or venue staff member for help. Tri-Cities citizens, including ourselves, can do a lot more to all come together and help keep our underrepresented populations safe. We will remain vigilant to ensure all members of our communities feel safe and protected at our events.
