Friday! 🔥 Doors: 19:30 · Start: 20:00 Tickets: 10 € at door only 🦋 Throughout 2025, from January 1st to December 31st, there is a durational installation present in ausland, called Minute/Year. This installation, by the artist duo Kata Kovács and Tom O’Doherty, automatically records the sound occurring in the main concert space of ausland, for one minute exactly, every day at 20:25. Simultaneously, it plays back the previous day’s recording, thus creating a layered audio portrait of the space over time, and creating and recording emergent room tones and spatial drones as it goes. This work has been ongoing in annually-altering locations since 2016. On the evening of September 19th, there will be an event, featuring Marta Zapparoli, KvT, and DuChamp, which will use the archive created by the daily recordings captured by Minute/Year as material for three live concert sets. The evening will begin with a short introduction by Kata Kovács and Tom O’Doherty about Minute/Year. There will then be a one-minute-long intervention-performance, at 20:25 exactly, during the time when Minute/Year is active. Hi. Some new recordings are up now on Bandcamp — demos of two tracks, “Amulets” and “Lockkeeper.” The link is in our bio. What you can hear: Voices, bass, xylophone, trumpet, loopstations, and the sound of falling metal straws bouncing and skittering on the concrete. The mixer was half-broken, but we strung it together with the trusty zoom recorder to turn sounds into ones and zeroes, back in December. These two resulting little lakes of sound are still ultimately-incomplete reflections of ongoing labour. More soon. The live pictures here are from when we played in Zonoteka last year. Gotta boost the algorithm, oder. Also we will have a couple of concerts coming up in April and May — more about that soon too.

We’ll be playing on Saturday, 25. March (next week!) at @zoenoteka in Neukölln, at the launch event for “Golden Spike,” a photo installation by @hajnal_szolga_photography .
