I've been Kerri Van Awesome. Van Rockin and now Van Autistic. While writing a show, 'Blackout" about a woman afraid of her feelings, I was actually writing a roadmap to my own brain.Through a lot of curiosity, comedy, and some brilliant experts, I "discovered" the why behind the what: a late-in-life diagnosis of Autism and ADHD (AuDHD). I’m officially late to the neurodivergent party. This discovery led me to start to develop: "Aaand... Blackout!" premiering May 15th at the Ashland Fringe Festival
I’ve also been asked to join a panel to speak on my experience as a writer/performer navigating a very late diagnosis. Would love to see you there. More to come. So. Much. More.

After months of intense editing with Justin Sandler, WELL(NESS) is officially picture locked and heading to the sound mixer today 🎬✨
We began with 8.5 hours of footage and shaped it into a 40-minute short / featurette. This was originally meant to be a 15-minute short, but we quickly realized this story needed space to breathe. These characters needed room for their journeys to unfold.
Independent filmmaking stretches you in ways you do not expect. This week we had to hire an FX artist to remove an object from 32 clips in a pivotal ending scene. Hiring final sound mixing also became a much larger cost than we anticipated.
Huge gratitude to the mentors guiding us through this final stretch, including one who is teaching me color correction today. When the budget ran thin, it became time to learn another skill. Every layer matters.
Thank you to our incredible Seed and Spark donors. This film would not exist without your support. Because of you, we were able to solve unexpected challenges and complete the film with care and precision.
Justin and I, along with our cast, are also now ALL able to attend our premiere, which feels incredibly special.
