🎉💫 Marking the First Edition Sellout of the Japanese "Document Your Culture"
It’s been a huge pleasure to work with Satoko-san on the Japanese translation and publication of Document Your Culture. It’s been a truly DIY endeavour. I’ve loved seeing how the words have been adapted for a different context, and her tweaking of the idea - document OUR culture. Taking part in the workshop, to celebrate selling out the first limited edition run, was a real treat. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Over the two hour session to celebrate the sellout of DYC Japan edition, together with Emma, we revisited a powerful message: that when voices are documented it's no longer just about the individuals. It becomes a story of "us" and of the collective— ultimately shapes the culture itself. It was also a moving reminder that our stories deserve to be nurtured with care. Motivated by a sense of duty to share the insights we received that night, I've decided to include a special zine-in-zine capturing key reflections from the session as a bonus for the second edition of Document Your Culture Japan. Like many of our readers, I too have been and continuously will be guided by this book.
