At SKT, students are sent on internships in nursing homes, residential facilities and hospitals, where they become part of interdisciplinary teams with the nursing staff. “For the students, it’s an eye-opener. Many are shocked by how bad things are. They return with a great commitment to making a difference,” says Ulla. That’s why innovation has become a permanent part of the course. After the internship period, there is a whole week where the students use their experiences from the internship as a starting point to develop solutions. First, they get an introduction to innovation methods, then they choose a problem to work on developing solutions for, and finally they pitch their solutions to a panel of professionals. From forgotten to favorite: Redesign your clothes with @our.shift.copenhagen Most of us care about sustainability, yet we all have that pile of clothes hiding in our closet: the shirt with a hole, the jeans that don’t fit quite right anymore, the hoodie we’ve simply fallen out of love with. But what if those forgotten pieces were not waste, but resources for creativity? Upcycling Lab is a cosy, hands-on workshop where you bring an old clothing item and transform it into something with new life, new meaning and maybe even a bit of personality. You don’t need sewing skills or design experience - just curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and the joy of making something together with other students. This is not a fashion class. It’s a creativity gym a space to try things out, make small “mistakes,” explore your imagination, and discover how innovation can emerge from rethinking what you already have. The workshop will be led by Milan Florian Flicek | Co-Founder & Creative Director from Our Shift. Milan is a designer-activist and a graduate of the Royal Danish Academy. He is the creative force behind OUR SHIFT’s "militant" upcycling aesthetic. It focuses on transforming discarded festival tents and technical waste into high-end streetwear. His work has been featured at Copenhagen Fashion Week and is recognized for blending functional utility with a radical environmental message. Working also with B2B companies like Skoda car, Novo Nordisk and many more. Open to all UCPH students incl. PhDs students but spots are limited so hurry up and sign up via link in bio! Date & Time: 23.04, from 16:00 to 19:00 Room: Library Lighthouse, Zone 2 Location: Nørre Allé 49, 2200 CPH N

From meeting at KU Innovators to building BeLuna 🌙 BeLuna is a menstrual health startup working to change how we talk about and care for our menstrual cycles. Through education, community work and advocacy, they are helping make periods something we can talk about openly – not something we hide. The story started here at KU Lighthouse. Two of the founders, Agata and Fernanda, met through our programme KU Innovators. They quickly realised they shared the same motivation to work on menstrual health – and BeLuna was born. Ena, who is also part of the KU Lighthouse community, later joined as the third member of the startup. Since then, the team has only grown – along with their Instagram community @beluna.community . Go check them out! Recently, BeLuna was also granted the MicroGrant of 25,000 kr. to continue developing their work ❤️‍🔥 Stories like this are exactly why KU Innovators exists. To bring people together around ideas and shared ambitions to change the status quo. Whether you have an idea, want to find a business partner, or simply want to explore entrepreneurship like Agata, applications for the next KU Innovators cohort are open. Sign up deadline: April 12
