I have my final show of an 8 month tour in just 2 weeks and I woke up today feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything! A few days ago I was at Abbey Road, madness! 😭 So I sent myself on a trip down memory lane with a few tears lol and it allowed me for a minute to just appreciate all of the amazing opportunities and moments I've had these last few years, and all the amazing people I've met and worked with along the way. I'm super thankful for it all. As a scummy little estate boy I could never have imagined that one day I'd have achieved some of these things. I definitely feel like I have grown as a person, and as time moves on it's easy to become too self critical about things you could have done or would have done differently. But then I'm reminded without everything thats happened, happening exactly as it has, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Thats the end of an amazing year! 8 months and 57 venues, and an official charts placing! But also the end of a chapter in my life. The Green Time Machine was a very intentional and emotional EP. In some ways it represents closure and the closing of a book, because for now, that story is finished. The green time machine is ready to dematerialise into places unknown!
Like most young people I had seemingly impossible dreams, and in the last 16 years I've done some tremendous things I never thought possible for an estate raised kid, I got to fulfil all of my wildest ambitions. Performing on a west end stage, touring my country, meeting and working with my childhood heroes, my childhood hero knows who I am and talks to me about life, mental! Supporting Russell Crowe, performing to 80,000 people, putting on sell out shows, releasing albums and achieving chart placings. I've had the opportunities of flying around the world to write with artists and be part of a whole host of crazy projects, some that I still see the benefits of today. All of this whilst grafting and fighting as an independent artist for the right to have a career in the music industry. Knocking on doors and not taking no for an answer. I've been doing this for 16 years, all of this with the love and support of my family, friends and a loyal fan base gathered across all these different career ventures. I've always been humbled by the support and loyalty to my art and career. So thank you for being part of my journey, and for believing in me!
Your support was never once taken for granted, and I've made so many amazing memories and friends. It feels though like this is the right time to take a wee hiatus and tend to some pressing life matters. Artistry wise this is me signing off with the intention that I shall come back! I reckon I've got one more good album left in me down the line 🤣 see you on the other side, much love and keep safe 🫶🏼 👋🏽🫶🏼 - "One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back.
