5月20日(水) まで、KUGGのエッセンシャルオイルブレンド “HIMOROGI” を制作いただきました、香りのデザインスタジオ AOIRO( @aoiro.air )の展示が、和光地階のアーツアンドカルチャーにて開催中です。
“HIMOROGI” の香り、竜山石のストーンディフューザーも展示されておりますので、この機会にぜひご体感ください。
Until Wednesday, May 20, an exhibition by the fragrance design studio AOIRO , who created KUGG’s essential oil blend “HIMOROGI,” is now being held at Arts and Culture on the basement floor of WAKO.
The scent of “HIMOROGI,” together with the Tatsuyama stone diffuser, is also presented in the space. We hope you will take this opportunity to experience it.

Essential Oil Blend “HIMOROGI”

A stillness that seems to linger deep within the forest. A rustic yet majestic presence expressed through scent.
Built around ten ingredients including fir, hiba, oakmoss, and Japanese umbrella pine, the composition layers the atmosphere of a deep forest.
Rather than recreating plants that grew during the era, the fragrance seeks to evoke the perception of nature that lies deep within the memory of the Japanese.
In a modern age that feels like a torrent of information, it is a scent that brings stillness—and a touch of tension.
森の奥に漂う、張り詰めた静けさ。素朴で雄大な気配を香りとして表現しました。モミ、ヒバ、オークモス、コウヤマキなどを中心に、10種類の素材を重ねています。当時の植物を再現するのではなく、日本人の記憶の奥に潜む自然観を表現。
情報の濁流のような現代で、静けさとひとさじの緊張をもたらす香りです。

時計自身のマテリアルもまた、時間の流れをその身にまとっていきます。
真鍮は触れた痕跡や酸化によって表情を変え、チークは光や空気を受け取りながら、その色の深みを増していく。
流れる時間、
蓄積される時間。
The materials of the clock themselves come to wear the passage of time. Brass gains character through the traces of touch and oxidation, while teak matures, deepening its hue as it breathes in light and air day by day.
Time that flows, and time that settles.

竜山石を使用したキューブ型の立体と、希少なミャンマー産チーク無垢材の台座を組み合わせた時計。竜山石は、火山灰が長い時間をかけて圧密されて生まれた凝灰岩で、兵庫県高砂市周辺の限られた地域でのみ採掘される希少な石材です。石と木の二つの立体は固定されておらず、一つでは自立しない構造を持っています。異素材同士が互いの存在を保ち独自のバランスと存在感を放ちます。
The clock consists of a cube-shaped form made of Tatsuyama stone paired with a base crafted from rare Myanmar teak. Tatsuyama stone is a tuff created from volcanic ash compressed over long periods of time, quarried only in limited areas around Takasago City in Hyogo Prefecture. The two forms—stone and wood—are not fixed in place, and neither can stand on its own. Together, these contrasting materials support one another, creating a distinctive balance and presence.

時計本体の制作は、重厚感がある家具や異素材をテーマにした家具を制作している佐々木家具造形研究所。対話を重ねる中で、チークの中でも希少かつ高品質な、ミャンマーチーク無垢材から削り出された質量ある立体として仕上がりました。形状の情報を削ぎ落とすことにより、素材自体の持つ情報と時間の奥行きを引き出します。工業的な精緻さと、手による有機的なプロセスを内包したオブジェクト。

The body is crafted by Sasaki research institute, known for creating substantial furniture and works that explore mixed materials. Through our dialogue with him, the clock was shaped from a solid block of rare, high-quality Myanmar teak, resulting in a weighty, three-dimensional form. By reducing the form to its essentials, it reveals the inherent qualities of the material and the depth of time held within it. An object that embodies both industrial precision and organic, handcrafted processes.
