Okey so “Sun” is officially out there in the world! 🌞 Thanks to anyone who’s listened to it. 
Even though it’s my first single, for me this track represents the closing of a chapter, rather than the opening of one. Let me explain. I’ve been producing my own electronic music for almost 10 years now, with a deeper focus on dance music in the last 4 years. In this time, I’ve probably made over 30 songs that I never released – some of them you might have heard in my DJ sets or in my Instagram / TikTok videos. I always thought I was going to release them all one day, however. In the last 6 months I think I’ve finally found my sound and what I want to do. And none of those songs really represent that. I wasn’t planning on releasing Sun at first, but thanks to @karol_theproducer ’s amazing master, and @feverish_photography ’s incredible photograph of my beautiful friend @hayley_d._pearce (that I used as the cover), I had no excuse not to put this song out into the world. So this track represents the closing of an old chapter of my music – and I think it feels like that. I didn’t write the vocals or vocal melody in this song, it’s a splice loop (which kinda backfired, as the song won’t appear on Instagram or TikTok because of copyright issues with splice loops, which I annoyingly didn’t know before lol). But emotionally, this song still represents what I wanted for it to represent. Sun is Brighton. It’s summer. It’s my friends. It’s Aperol Spritz on the beach. It’s those little moments when you’re grateful to be alive. But it’s also closure. End of summer. End of an era. End of those amazing moments. It’s a song made for sunset rather than sunrise. It’s a song made for myself, my way of telling everyone around me how much I love them – maybe not through words, but through the arrangement and production of the song. Sun is out there, even on a cloudy day (this turned very poetic very quickly haha). Anyway, it’s gonna feel a bit weird promoting this song in the next few weeks. But I’m excited for my new chapter, with many songs already in the works. Can’t wait to share them with you. If you’ve read this far, as always, I deeply appreciate you. – Kuco

So I wrote my first essay. It’s quite long; I don’t actually expect anyone to read it. However, if you do, please let me know what you think. It’s weird writing about my thoughts and sharing them online, but I felt it was something I had to do. By the way, I recognise these are just my opinions and they might be completely wrong. Anyway, to give context as to why I wrote this: This week, I finally found the courage to release my own music and upload it to streaming services. My debut song, “Sun,” will be released at midnight between the 22nd and 23rd of August. In this essay, I ask myself whether it’s right to release music during the times we live in. Spoiler alert: I didn’t find the answer. But maybe I’ve found some confidence in what I’m doing. I don’t really know.

Two weeks ago, while enjoying the sunshine at Brighton Beach (and checking the weather forecast for the next day), I randomly messaged @tempestbrighton with: “Would you be up for a house, funk, and groovy DJ set on your terrace tomorrow from around 3 PM until sunset?” And fortunately, they said, “Let’s give this a try!” So I prepped my favorite house / indie dance / groovy / disco tunes, packed my decks into my suitcase, and went there. I’m going to be honest, DJing while watching the sunset on the beach was such a dreamy experience. Thanks so much to @tempestbrighton for being down to do this spontaneous idea. WHERE ARE THE DAILY VLOGS?! Haha, it’s been a while since I posted on Instagram. The main reason I haven’t been posting is that, after 12 days of daily vlogs, I had to stop due to some unforeseen personal circumstances. I felt like I had made some form of public failure, so I didn’t want to post until I had another daily vlog ready. But at the end of the day, these things don’t matter as much, and sometimes you have to prioritise different things in life. Anyway, I want to get back to it, but today’s not the day yet.
 Today, I want to share a story and a small announcement. I’ve had this idea of filming a set on a beach for quite a while now. A few weeks ago, it was a really sunny day in Brighton, and it was my last day there before heading back to Slovakia, so I figured, “Fuck it, why not? Let’s rent a speaker, message my friends, make a set, and play in public and film it to see how it goes.” It was very nerve-wracking at first, but if there’s one thing I love about Brighton, it’s how supportive people are of each other. No one gave me bad looks, and many people stopped to vibe! On top of that, a stranger came up to me with his camera, filmed me and my dear friends for a bit, and asked for my Instagram. Two days later, I received a message from him with this beautiful video!!!! That stranger was @madebyalber —his work is amazing, you should definitely check it out. Thank you so much, Alber, for making this video and for making this moment last! Anyway, the full set “BEATS AND BEERS AT BRIGHTON BEACH” will be released this Wednesday on @nice2meet.uk new YT channel! It’s a mix of tunes that fit the beach vibe, from legendary classics to more underground ones (and some of my tunes as well).
