I am 33 and I have something to say!
I read an essay called “in defense of despair” by @nifmuhammad earlier this year that I return to weekly. He’s one of me and my best friends (hi cara) favorite writers, and one of his favorite poets (shoutout Mary Oliver) is also one of my favorite poets. What both of these writers do that I love so much is bring attention to the unsung ordinary things that are actually the whole point. I like to call them tiny epics. Danusha Lameris has a poem about this kind of thing called small kindnesses that I reference a lot too (pinned on my IG).
They are the kind of things that help me keep falling in love with the world even though it can be pretty cruel! And they are usually found in the inconvenient tasks we avoid, like getting a toe cap of an old shoe replaced or running in the cold.

whatever the opposite of demure is. very manic, changing outfits when I’m already running late, thriving under chaos, asking if you’re mad at me, a menace to society, chronically ill.🔋🧸🤺
No matter what happens, people will continue to have abortions across the US. We have a responsibility to each other to make sure they are SAFE.
Abortion pills are available by mail, nationwide. Abortion funds are working around the clock to help people leave restricted states to access in-clinic care. Hotlines are answering questions. No matter where you live, you can find safe and updated abortion options at YouHaveOptions.com
This site is a call to action and a message of hope.
Information is care! And systems of care are integral to collective disruption.

Monday agenda: wake up and yearn. make coffee and warm it up 3x. visit my favorite tree at exactly 12:15 because I’ve set an alarm to make sure I leave the house when working from home. feel the short term ecstasy of a new wandering creative idea or a funny bit followed by the agony of realizing its not a unique thought followed by the beauty of “wow someone has thought this thought before!”
Jesse Tipton (aka the original TIP, paw paw, sgt., and who the entire family called when they needed anything) left us early Sunday morning after years of telling us “I got cancer, cancer don’t got me.”
He was the glue of this family and the grief is felt by all of us. But the Tipton’s come from a long legacy of surviving and that’s what we will continue to do in his memory.💙
