This week I reported from Washington DC for @atmos on the Monsanto v Durnell Supreme Court Hearing, and began shooting a new documentary on the most widely used herbicide in the world: glyphosate, investigating its global environmental and public health impacts.
Monsanto (bought by Bayer) failed to warn that glyphosate could cause cancer. The hearing is a pivotal moment in what has become one of the most significant product liability lawsuits in U.S. history: over 100,000 plaintiffs allege that they unknowingly poisoned and exposed themselves to glyphosate-based herbicide products, most commonly known as Roundup, given its link to non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This weed killer, sold on the shelves of Home Depot without a warning label, its bottle proudly proclaiming “Kills the Roots,” was at one point touted by Monsanto as safe enough to drink and hailed as a miracle chemical.
More to come 💗

Sarah and I lost rental keys in this field while driving home from Big Sur. Three hours away from home. We scoured the field trying to retrace untraceable steps. Panic set in and eventually solidified into horror. The sun was setting, the grasses gleamed like a billion bright little mirrors against our eyes, making even the hillside itself hard to see, let alone one small key lost among that sea of gold. Nothing can describe the absolute euphoria we experienced when, against all odds, Sarah did in fact find the key after all. We screamed and collapsed joyfully into the grass that moments before had been our nightmare.
I’ve had a hyper fixation for nudibranch (sea slugs) recently and decided to wrangle some friends to go meet a few in person. This trip ended up being so expansive and fascinating! Thank you @mo.fishy.adventures for guiding and @summergwagner for being generally down for the side quest. Honorable mention @ethancolburn
