I present to you the KX-01. Part alien, part 80’s, 100% badass, and with a mean stance. Every angle of this boombox is amazing, and we can stop staring at it.
Huge thanks to @itscubed for all the radio know-how, as well as being the mastermind behind all the 3D elements, taking my concept from sketch to reality.

Greetings world, please allow me to introduce The Contrabox.
A project that @olansound and I brainstormed over a year ago has finally manifested itself into this awesome boombox project. So many levels of collaboration took place for this piece to come to fruition, and I'm so excited that I was able to be a part of it.
I've been a fan of Anjunabeats and @anjunadeep for over a decade now. Listening to the Anjunadeep Edition has been a Thursday ritual for literally 7 years now, and so to be able to work with an Anjuna artist in any capacity has been somewhat of a dream.
I want to thank Olan so much for giving me this opportunity to bring my art back into an industry that I have not been a part of for some time. I know this will not be the last time I get to work with a musician, but I'm very happy that this was my first.

KX-02 has left the factory and is ready to start it’s mission.
I started this project as an test to see how much I’ve learned since doing the KX-01, and tried to push my skillset a bit further. While I was almost content with this being a single color design, going for the multiple colors, gradients, and super intricate decal stencils brought this boombox to the next level.
I pulled inspiration from the Gundam/mecha world of design to add detailed and dynamic angles to give this boombox a techy menacing look. The side wings were also a major development for me in the 3D modeling realm as I’ve outsourced a lot of the previous 3D designs to my buddy @pillowfortmedia in the past.
So needless to say, the final product was an achievement for me on multiple fronts. The 3D modeling, multiple layered stencils, super precise symmetry, and then pushing the gradient from 2 / 3 colors to now 6 COLORS for the KX-02!

Pushing 850+ episodes into One Piece and wanted to make some devil fruit for some modeling practice. Started with the Gum Gum and Flame Flame fruits to nail the design language, then figured I’d try to add a Kriticz twist to a fruit thats never canonically shown up in the manga or anime.
The Oto Oto no Mi (Sound Sound Fruit), is a paramecia type devil fruit that allows a user to make music with their body to hurt their enemies. Scratchmen Apoo ate this fruit and currently poses its powers.
I’ve seen other fan art with it looking like a music note, but felt making it into a speaker perfectly fit into the Kriticz world.
