he proved I’m right 💜
…for dreaming, that is ✨
Up against the heteronormative barriers of this society, little Shyam always felt that dreaming of finding his Prince Charming and dancing with him with #Pride would be left a fantasy.
This sweet & surreal moment from my sister’s wedding was when it hit me that it’s all become a reality! I’m so lucky to be able to hold the man I love in front of my entire family and friends, and slow dance with him - he makes it all possible!
So grateful to that little boy for dreaming with wide eyes and an open heart, welcoming love and never compromising 🥺🙏🏽

Not lost. Just not where you left me. 🤷🏾
Life’s been doing the absolute most lately🥺 - had me off balance, out of rhythm, not quite myself. But maybe that’s the point. Sometimes you don’t fall apart… you reset. Rebuild. Reintroduce yourself with better boundaries, sharper energy, and zero tolerance for anything that doesn’t feel right. Still figuring it out - just doing it with better outfits and stronger mindset. 💪🏾🫶🏽✨

10 years in the making - a million forms, a thousand checks, and at least 3 identity crises later…
finally made it 🇬🇧✨
3 nationalities. 6 languages.
And a journey that taught me who I am.
This passport wasn’t given. It was earned.
Behind the scenes, it’s been years of visa stress, deadlines, uncertainty, and building a life between places. A journey so many immigrants quietly carry - constant proving, adapting, and pushing forward.
Today, it all feels worth it 🤍

Jo Mehboob Ko Dekhe Toh Khuda Ko Bhul Jaye, Wo Ishq 🕯️✨🤌🏽
Happy 4 year anniversary @krishalkaylash 🤍
You came into my life when I had no faith in love -
when my heart felt barren and I was lost in my own becoming.
You brought hope through your presence alone.🥺
You showed me that love can be simple, beautiful, and effortless.
That I can feel free even while holding your hand.
That love doesn’t bind - it opens.✨
With your kind eyes, you looked into my soul
and quietly returned the light I thought I had lost.
Together, we are building a love that feels timeless -
one that lives deeply in every moment,
ever-growing, crossing boundaries,
rooted in living more authentically and grounded through bhakti 🫶🏽

in-laws ❌ family ☑️
@krishalkaylash brought me to his home in Madagascar for the first time to celebrate #Diwali with his family, and this is how they welcomed me into their family, despite everything that’s been happening 🥺♥️
We’re so fortunate to be surrounded by family on both sides that not only support, but champion our love no matter what. Even though I’m away from my own family back in London, his family didn’t let me miss them at all, and this little welcome made us feel so loved! ✨
Their love and light, and the warmth and care that they’ve shown us fills our hearts with so much joy - the perfect reminder of what Diwali truly means 🪔
Wishing you all a beautiful and wholesome Diwali Celebration 🙏🏽♥️

POV: The cutest mehmaan is staying with us! 🥹🪔
Growing up, I always loved Ganpati; his beautiful heart, his love and Bhakti, his cutest form and his playfulness. I’d listen to his bhajans and play with him for hours! In the past few years, I’ve grown an attachment towards bappa’s Pooja during Ganesh Chaturthi, but I struggled with how, as I never grew up doing it.
One of @krishalkaylash and my shared love language is acts of service, but doing meaningful and love-filled seva together is always so special, and brings out such a beautiful offering, helping us to connect spiritually, but also ground our love - so happy we managed to prioritise Bappa coming home this year! ♥️
Grateful to @spiritual.yoga.rituals for always guiding us with compassion and wisdom, helping us see meaning and depth in a proper practice and service together! 🙏🏽

A simpler ending to a recital has in someways been more impactful. Singing the whole bandish at the end is a way to wrap up and pay respects to the composer. It’s as though I am saying that although I spent many avartans improvising, it’s the bandish that’s of essence that’s enabled me to improvise. Also not singing a tihayi at the end (as is the norm) has given me a neater more relaxed finish. Keen to know what you all think as well?
