We’re beyond thrilled to exhibit fiber artwork by KRISTINA RICCI @krfiberart in our brand-new exhibition—ACCUMULATIONS. Kristina Ricci @krfiberart is a fiber artist who uses knotting, weaving, crocheting, and other processes to explore how meaning accumulates in objects over time. Ricci considers closets, garages, attics, and storage bins as informal archives—spaces shaped as much by memory and emotion as by practical need. Her work is built through repetition and accumulation, reflecting the ways people collect and hold onto objects throughout their lives. With time, care, and a shift in perspective, ordinary and forgotten materials can be transformed. At the core of this body of work is an interest in people’s collections: what they choose to keep, what they discard, and the emotional weight behind those decisions. The structured processes of knotting and weaving introduce order and rhythm, standing in contrast to the tangled, unreliable nature of memory and attachment. Objects carry stories, and materials often outlive their original purpose. Introducing ACCUMULATIONS exhibiting artist KRISTINA RICCI @krfiberart Formerly a creative director at a multimedia agency, KRISTINA RICCI @krfiberart returned to hands-on creativity in 2020 through the tactile world of fiber art—finding calm, connection, and creative spark during uncertain times. Since then, she’s been on a mission to reimagine the everyday, transforming materials like Ethernet cables, bathing suit straps, and plastic netting into woven works full of texture, personality, and surprise. Kristina’s vibrant large-scale fiber pieces have popped up on chairs, benches, fences and signposts throughout Philadelphia, inviting passersby to see the city—and its materials—through a new lens. With a love for knotting, weaving, and improvisation, Ricci’s work explores the links between people, place, and material memory. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions across the Philadelphia region and debuted her first solo exhibition in the summer of 2025. A folder discovered at my dad’s house contained Ukrainian embroidery patterns that my mom and grandmother had used. I was drawn to translate these into a larger scale with repurposed materials. Both my mom and Babcia were resourceful with the materials they had available.
