Its a special time in Copenhagen right now because my long time hero Salim Washington is in town (for the first time) and we are playing together in an outfit lead by my saxophone brother Mads Egetoft and my bass brother Nils Davidsen. Tonight is the last chance to hear us in Denmark. we play at Christianshavns Beboerhus at 8:30pm. at 7pm I am interviewing Salim as part of my ongoing series of Netværkstalks in collaboration with Autor.

På lørdag d. 16/5 kl. 20:30 kan Salim Washington, saxofonist, multiblæser, komponist, akademiker og aktivist fra Detroit, endelig opleves i København. Coltranes ånd hviler over Washingtons medrivende og fascinerende musik, som har både spirituelle og sociale dimensioner.
Salim Washington tager del i en sprængfarlig dansk kvartet med Nils Bo Davidsen (bas og cello), Kresten Osgood (trommer) og Mads Egetoft (saxofon).
Inden koncerten vil Kresten Osgood og Salim Washington deltage i en talk, arrangeret af Autor. Det foregår kl. 19 i Beboerhusets biograf på 1. sal.

Washington är en saxofonist, multi-blåsare, kompositör, akademiker och aktivist från Detroit som sedan 1970-talet varit mycket aktiv på den amerikanska jazzscenen, och även i Sydafrika, där han blivit en central gestalt. Coltranes ande vilar över hans medryckande och fascinerande musik, som har såväl spirituella som sociala dimensioner.

Unik konsert med egensinniga improvisations och avant-rock legenden
Gitarristen, banjoisten och multiinstrumentalisten Eugene Chadbourne har ända sedan 1970-talet varit en egensinnig joker i den amerikanska improvisationsleken. Han spelade tidigt med Anthony Braxton och John Zorn och var en pionjär inom avant-rockmusiken. Ingen genre är främmande för Doc Chad. Han blandar ofta in element som Country & Western och Folk med fri improvisation och egna protestsånger. Vad som ska hända när han denna kväll möter Kresten Osgood och Mathias Landæus kan ingen förutspå - annat än att det lär en helt unik och mycket underhållande konsert.

A música é totalmente improvisada, surpreendendo até os próprios músicos cada vez que se juntam.

the first of two days of recording with Goodiepal. Its for a very big project that I cant say more about right now, but he had some incredible songs and we cut a bunch of them, Jeppe Zeeberg also came by...I played different percussion instruments, pump organ, phillips organ and rhodes bass keyboard.
Everybody´s favorite band is going on a Denmark tour next week. I have had my quintet since 2013 and I love playing with this band so much. Some of my favorite people in the world and we have been building our sound for years. we have new tunes and we are fired up to play 7 days in a row! come out and see us!!!
