My friend @krellthewarrior brought over his @rolandglobal TR-1000 and we proceeded to spend an empirical afternoon together programming it to sound like my vintage TR-808 and TR-909. Much has been mentioned about the analog direct outputs of the TR-1000 but seldom heard. We aimed to fix that. Everything was broken out on all machines and mixed analog on my Neve console to remove the internal mixing on any machines. If there are pitch or tone differences, it’s because the TR-1000 did not have those controls or enough range to match 1:1 to my particular vintage machines.
