my third time at open mic night at @awkwardbrewing singing “make you feel my love” I’m learning how to keep showing up. Rebuilding the resilience I had as an athlete but now as an artist. I’ve spent years hiding. Stepping out, then retreating, shrinking back, taking my ball and going home as my friends would say. I dont really know why. Well i do. But mostly it’s from letting the voices of fear or insecurity or doubt or comparison win in my mind. I am starting to feel a shift though and There’s so much I could say as to what has lead to that but I’ll leave that for another day. For now, i am just showing up and choosing not to hide. getting a lil braver every time. starting to find my voice. I told my sisters - i want to sing because it feels like me and i just want to be myself! And that true north has started to help me cut through the noise in my head. ❤️ thanks for listening Ps: I know this is just an open mic night and may seem like not that big of a deal. Like you’re not even gigging yet Karen or releasing music so why are you making a big deal about this? Also fully aware maybe no one is thinking this and it’s just the critic monster in my head. But I am just trying to celebrate every little piece of my journey cause it’s taken so long to get here. So it’s ok if you think this is lame. “The hills are alive with the sound of music!” All I heard in my head every time we left the house. Also we caught the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. Thankful I finally got to visit my friends in their new stomping grounds! Can’t believe it’s already been a year! Sincerely forgot how beautiful Cali is. West coast is the best coast or what?

Did I tell you guys I went to Helen, Georgia for the first time during Octoberfest? It was a shockingly delightful time! I was giddy and can’t wait to go back during Christmas. Fun fact about me: my favorite Santa Is from the movie “Rise of the Guardians” and I love his Russian doll “center” monologue. Anybody know it?

Moving to the city is going well. Y’all were right. I love Atlanta. Lots of just literally being a millennial girl 💁🏼‍♀️ Fit checks, buying myself flowers, cutie coffee shops, girly pop dinners, photoshoots, Songwriting, covers, more open mic nights, concerts (living so close to venues is a dream!), beltline walks, north GA roadtrips and movies with the roomies, and first date in 9 years 🫢

Dancing is good for you. I read an article about it one time. I can’t remember what it said but just trust me on this ok? 💁🏼‍♀️

Thankful for friends who live in beautiful places and wanna make music with me. Now here’s a thousand iterations of basically the same picture haha. 💁🏼‍♀️💃🏼 Also, Maine is 10 out of 10! My little season in Peachtree City was so special. a soft place to land in the in-between and one of the most restful places I’ve ever lived. I’ve lived arouuuund it for many years but this was the first time getting to live actually in it and it was as magical as I expected. 💘🦋🦌🦉🌷🎹🩷 Will be returning often for that grand piano and dat Tommy boy!😘 What a rich, beautiful, and restful season. Thank you Brandon’s for having me! Thank you, Peachtree City — for being a gentle witness to this very special chapter full of many wins. I’m leaving different than I came. 🤍
