This #WomeninConstructionWeek, we celebrate the women who are changing the structural engineering profession by bringing new perspectives, innovative ideas, and strong leadership to the industry!
At KPFF, we’re proud to support women engineers who help shape a more inclusive future in engineering, construction, and architecture.

KPFF’s Los Angeles and Orange County structural teams were honored to celebrate the topping off ceremony for Rady Children’s Hospital. This milestone represents far more than structural progress. It’s a symbol of hope, healing, and expanded care for children and families in the community.
KPFF was part of the master plan phase with ZGF and Rady in 2019. Through that master plan effort, the team developed a strategy to address the needs of the community and the California SB 1953 seismic compliance requirements. We entered the design phase in 2020, and while the project team gained proficiency working remotely, medical planners at ZGF worked with the hospital to implement real-time lessons learned during the pandemic.
Knowing that the new seven-story, 486,500 SF ICU and Emergency Services Pavilion will support children and their families during times of health crisis makes this work especially significant to us. We look forward to seeing this project continue to take shape and, most importantly, to the lives it will serve for years to come. It is a privilege to collaborate with dedicated partners to help bring environments like this to life.

On this International Day of Education, we look back at some of our impactful K-12 and higher education projects. We’re honored to be part of shaping the spaces that shape the minds of our future generation.

This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans. KPFF Los Angeles is proud to have contributed to 50 projects for the VA throughout the southwest region of the U.S., creating spaces that support their healing and well-being.
Our team recently provided structural engineering services for the VA Long Beach Medical Campus, which includes a 115,000 SF Mental Health Building and a 160,000 SF Community Living Center. These facilities provide critical inpatient and outpatient care for veterans, offering environments of comfort, dignity, and community. We’re honored to help create spaces that serve those who have served us all.
