The fast-moving Eaton Fire broke out at 6:23 p.m. Tuesday near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive in Altadena, along the Pasadena border. The first two clips in the video feature establishing shots of Altadena, highlighting the fire’s impact in the area.
Our reporters captured on-the-ground footage from Altadena, Pasadena, and other surrounding communities affected by the blaze. Climate reporter Erin Stone also toured Sierra Madre to provide the latest updates on the fire’s effects.
The fire has now spread to 10,000 acres, according to Angeles National Forest officials. The cause remains under investigation.

Destructive winds not seen for more than a decade fanned multiple fires across the region. There’s little sign of relief as strong Santa Anas are expected to last through much of Wednesday.
An unknown number of structures have been destroyed, and many Southern Californians have been evacuated from their homes.

Soul-singer Brenton Wood - who is best known for The Oogum Boogum Song - has passed away at 83.
The hitmaker passed away surrounded by his friends and family on Friday at his home in Moreno Valley, California.
Wood has enjoyed the kind of career and timelessness most musicians only dream of achieving. What motivated him to reach such heights? Hunger, according to the man himself.

This year, the Rose Bowl Parade’s theme was “Best Day Ever!”
Hundreds of thousands of people watched the event along its 5.5-mile route, most of it along Colorado Boulevard, and millions more watched from home, according to the parade’s organizers.
It took an estimated 80,000 hours of work by more than 900 active volunteers to make it all happen.
