We are holding deep grief and anger for what is unfolding across our region. As we approach Nowruz, a new year celebrated in Iran and across the region, we are holding our Iranian community especially close. This moment is not abstract. It is family, it is friends, it is home. We are witnessing genocide in Gaza, devastating violence and forced displacement in Lebanon, and escalation in Iran. All of these have resulted in the killing of thousands of innocent people and directly connected to decades-long western oppression, imperialism and aggression. Our people deserve safety, dignity, and self-determination. As a QTSWANA space, we gather not in denial, but in solidarity. Our community spaces are places where we hold one another, grieve together, organize, and build strength for what’s ahead.
