This is the video of the process of making Birch Live Edge Bench which I posted some pictures the other day.
As for the materials, I was able to make all the parts from one single slab except two longest pieces which are the top of back rest and stretcher. I made those two long ones out of Black Walnut which give it nice visual accents and I think it is working well, don't you ? In the end , I am happy with the way it looks.

先日ポストした白樺のベンチの制作過程の短いビデオを作りました。
材料的には、一枚の板から２本の長い部材（背もたれの一番上の部分と座面下のストレッチャー）以外は全て作ることが出来たので、色的に違和感無く、また色の濃いヲールナットで作ったその2本がビジュアルアクセントとなり引き締まった感じで結構いい感じになったと思っているのですが、どうでしょうか？

When I join the craft market, I always showcase my xylophone and let kids ( and adults ) have fun with it.
Things are all about disital these days. I hope I can give them a chance to have a fun with wooden toys.

Riempie Bench .
Riempie is leather strip used as webbing in making furniture seat particularly in South Africa. This time, one of the clients is originally from South Africa . She had bought back these Riempie from the country a while ago and asked me to make a bench for them. But the amount of riempie was very limited and barely enough to make seat for two people. So I had to design it carefully especially on the seat part and I made full scale mock up before stared the processing to make sure that I have enough. The last image shows is the shape of the tenons where two tenons hit each other in the mortise hole. It creates stronger bond and makes this bench stronger. In the end, the client is super happy with the product and I am happy as well.

Riempieとは乳牛の皮で出来た紐で、このRiempie を座面に編み込んでイスやベンチを作るというのが南アフリカの伝統という事です。今回クライアント夫婦のご婦人方が南アフリカ出身の方で、以前に国から持ち帰ったriempieを使ってベンチを作って欲しいという依頼を受けて作りました。しかし数量がベンチを作るにはかなりギリギリでデザインを慎重に行い、座面部分だけは簡単な模型作って間違いなく足りることを確認するなどしました。最後のイメージは、２つの部材がほぞ穴の中でぶつかり合う場所が幾つかあるのでホゾの形をこのようにして接着剤での接合がより頑丈に、そして、丈夫なベンチになるように努めました。結果として、お客様にはとても気に入って頂けました。 また、完成後に撮影したこれらの写真も“南アフリカによくある家の雰囲気に似ている”ということで、その点も気に入って頂けました。

Are you looking for something for small children? How about handmade wooden toy instead of buying plastic ones from big box stores ? It’s got nice warm feelings as you can see. Maybe nice home decor as well. It is not tuned since it is a toy but it does make nice sounds.
The size is approximately 16”x9”x 3”high (40cm x23cm x 8cm)
