Recorded on an isolated mountain forest, this EP sees Kommodus returning to the lofi, unpolished, style of his demo tetralogy. The music comprising the six songs here ultimately reflects the long running vein of folkish, largely acoustic, and often melancholic compositions that have served as intros, outros, and interludes throughout the project’s discography. A style now realised in full.
The songs were improvised and alchemised, for the most part, with Count Hoggeth Palmeri and his host of unorthodox equipment in a cabin studio. The recordings, despite their roughness, or perhaps because of it, manage to capture the natural energy and electricity of both the environment and the time in which they were created.
This EP imagines a folkloric twenty-four hour cycle in the unyielding, yet beautiful, wilderness - a juxtaposition that many have marvelled at, and many will continue on to do so.

The wolf died and was reborn. Now its foetal form writhes and shines through mosaic – a reflection glittering with everything that has come before but renewed and exorcised here in maturity.
‘A Foetal Wolf In Stained Glass’ is the third Kommodus full-length album. A double LP mirroring in many ways the self-titled debut, but if that was the project at its most feral and eclectic then this album reflects an ultimate refinement of that unique style. Each track here its own foetal extension of the greater beast, only interested in its own fantasy, mythos, and insularity – with continued complete disregard and disinterest toward any philosophy, politic, past, present, future, or world, other than that imagined in this art form. Foetal wolves growing for themselves, by themselves, immortalized in stained glass.
Conceptually, the record concerns itself with fantasy, folklore, horror, apocalypse, and (is often the case) igniting the aspirational flame of inner strength to overcome obstacles both interior and exterior.
Double LP housed in Japanese style heavy tip-on gatefold jacket, available on both hand-numbered picture disc and traditional black vinyl, two 12"x12" inserts with lots of artwork and full-lyric, completed with Japanese OBI.

Spent a few days out in the wilderness with Palmeri working on some songs for an EP. New Kommodus music in the vein of the instrumental intros, outros, and interludes often included on prior releases. Also - Forest Temple II is in the process of being mastered. More from me soon.
