We Keep The Beats Moving..........
Did a mix for @upper_echelon_crew A-Z mix series.
This is a 26 track mix going through track titles from A to Z and it’s not as easy as it sounds, but was proper fun and made us think about mixes we would not have usually considered.
Put a few clips up so have a quick listen and if you wanna hear the whole think follow the link in bio or in our stories. Also go give @upper_echelon_crew a follow on socials.
Blessings!! 🫡
BIG TINGS ANNOUNCEMENT!! As you can see we are super happy to announce we are now part of Worship DNB!! A proper miracle!! The lads have decided to let us into the biggest DNB supergroup on the planet. If you can’t beat em, join em. Si and I will be using our generic white dad dance moves and displaying our total lack of soul and rhythm. Shouts to @emilio_hlz for the tutorials!!
We know this might come across as hypocritical after yesterday’s post, but fuck you, we don’t care. We are getting paid in exposure coin! Mum, we made it!! Who needs the underground? We in limos and choppers! Now, where is our flame throwers!! 🔥🔥🔥
NGL, this shit is straight-up depressing.
That image nails it: the scene devouring itself at the table, just like the Last Supper — except this time the disciples are stabbing each other in the back while the corporates count the ticket money.
London is blessed (and cursed) with endless DNB nights. The curse? Too many big events are run by corporate machines or backed by serious cash. On paper it looks harmless. In reality, it crushes the independents, leaving real promoters, crews, DJs and MCs fighting for scraps and visibility.
In this brutal economic and cultural climate, it makes zero fucking sense that indie promoters refuse to talk to each other. Clashing dates on the same night? Everyone bleeds out. Crowds get split, vibes die, bills flop, and the scene as a whole gets weaker.
The only way to “win” right now is to throw stupid money at it, sell your soul to the corporates, or actually start working together to protect and grow the underground.
Too many of you — DJs, MCs, promoters, even punters — have gone full “me first.” In this dog-eat-dog world it’s understandable, but people seem to be forgetting the mutual support, the word-of-mouth, the shared floors and pirate radio energy that built this scene in the first place. Without that foundation, the gentrification and popification will keep stripping away the raw, ugly, beautiful ingredients that made DNB what it is.
You can still hit the super-festivals with 100 big names and flashy production. No one’s stopping you. But if someone’s putting on a proper grassroots night — low-cost, sometimes even free — you need to show the fuck up. Buy the ticket. Bring your people. Dance like it matters. Discover new talent. Help keep the community alive.
Otherwise this whole thing will vanish, replaced by sterile, sponsored, last-supper bullshit where the bass is safe, the crowd is passive, and the soul is long gone.
One week on from an amazing session in Bristol…. 2hrs b2b with my guys Kolectiv, with Medic one of the finest in the game rolling on the mic 💥💥💥
