We are pleased to introduce the ceramist we are collaborating with for our upcoming tea tastings, beginning at the end of May. Their work reflects a quiet sensitivity to form and material, with each piece thoughtfully made to be used and experienced. Here we share a selection of previous works as an introduction, ahead of the pieces they are creating for us, which we look forward to sharing soon. Alex Kwan @the_otterpotter Alex founded Otter Potter in 2022. With a background in graphic design from Central Saint Martins, he brings a playful and illustrative approach to ceramics through wheel throwing, hand building and surface decoration. His work centres on creativity and joy, aiming to make people smile through everyday objects. Eimi Koike @koikeeimi A self taught ceramicist based in South London, Eimi’s practice explores natural forms and the relationship between clay and the body. Influenced by her residency in Sasama, Shizuoka, she works primarily with porcelain, creating pieces that reflect her research into organic patterns and Japanese aesthetics. Flora Fabris @ooak_creation Flora is a London based ceramic artist creating stoneware rooted in quiet ritual and the beauty of imperfection. Inspired by wabi sabi, her work focuses on functional forms that bring presence and intention to everyday moments. Tim Lake @timlpots Based in rural Mid Wales, Tim creates stoneware that balances vitality with a quiet presence. Drawing on a range of influences, his work highlights the softness of clay and the transformative nature of the firing process, resulting in pieces that are both expressive and enduring.
