I am incredibly happy and proud to share this focus programme I have been working on over these past months for the upcoming edition of IFFR (
@iffr ).
The work of Timoteus Anggawan Kusno (
@takusno ) deals with trauma and (colonial) history in unexpected, powerful and visceral ways. Watching these films together and working on the programme has been both a pleasure and a rich experience, which I hope will translate to audiences. The programme contains eight of Kusno's short films, including the world premieres of two new films: Fever Dream & Unreleased, and the festival premiere of Anatomy of Nostalgia.
The focus programme will be accompanied by the exhibition of several charcoal drawings from Kusno's series In a Landscape, which will be on display in De Doelen during the festival. (
@dedoelenrotterdam ). Thanks to Eva Langerak (
@evant_garde ) for making this possible.
Huge thanks to Timoteus as well, it has been a pleasure to discuss his work with him, get to know him better, and brainstorm on the programme together.
Join us for one of the screenings in KINO.
