10 years ago Sicario came out! Working with Jóhann Jóhannsson on his brilliant score remains one of the greatest and most formative experiences in my career for which I’m forever grateful. He's very much missed.
Together with Than van Nispen we provided music for the "AR Orkest" installation created by @chantallapleiter for the @rotterdamphilharmonic orchestra!
“AR Orkest” is a special installation in which children discover the world of musical instruments in Augmented Reality.
Children can go on their own journey of discovery where they find, listen to and collect instruments. They activate virtual musical instruments themselves and bring them to life; timbres appear and instruments tell about how fun they are and how unique they sound and invite the children to play them.
AND… They can build their own orchestra!
Once all the instruments are collected, the children can build their own orchestra in the physical space and in AR, it plays a concert for you that you can walk in between yourself.
The AR Orchestra was developed by Happy Ship & Chantalla Pleiter for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the innovative education program Discover the Orchestra.
By giving the instrument a physical place in the perception of its audience through AR, the RPhO wants to introduce them to the Orchestra in an exciting and accessible way.

Last summer we composed and recorded the soundtrack for 'A Divided World'.
Here Maarten Buning is recording a zither with a bow, creating incredibly disturbing sounds. The zither recording was then tuned down, to make it even more dark.
