@KobiKarp introduces the Ponce Residence in Miami Beach, FL. 💎 The interior environment is curated around the concept of softly balanced proportions and natural light. Floor-to-ceiling glass facades serve as the primary interior walls, ensuring that every living space feels connected to the Miami Beach horizon while enhancing the home’s sense of scale. A palette of natural stone, wood, and plaster brings a visceral warmth to the clean-lined design, reinforcing an atmosphere of restrained elegance. From the open-concept social areas to the private retreats, the interior is a study in tranquility and architectural precision. The exterior presence is defined by interwoven volumes and significant overhangs that protect the residence while creating a distinct, composed silhouette against the skyline. These large architectural elements allow for a seamless transition between the indoor living spaces and the surrounding landscape, providing deep shade and a sanctuary-like feel. The May issue features the icon of design Kobi Karp and an update on the Sabrina Cohen Foundation project. What began as a vision for inclusion in 2020 has officially become reality. On March 27, 2026, the first phase of the Beachview Park redevelopment broke ground, marking a major milestone for the Sabrina Cohen Foundation and its mission to create one of the nation’s most inclusive public spaces. Inspired by founder Sabrina Cohen’s personal journey and commitment to accessibility, the project will provide individuals and families of all abilities the opportunity to experience fitness, recreation, healing, and the beauty of Miami Beach without barriers. Future plans include the Adaptive Recreation and Fitness Healing Center and the symbolic Pathway of Inclusion, connecting the center directly to the ocean through a fully accessible pathway. This transformative project is a powerful reminder that inclusion is built step by step, brick by brick—and the community now has the chance to be part of that legacy. From the start, I’ve believed that architecture should never compete with its surroundings. It’s not the main event, it’s the backdrop. The environment leads, the light, the air, the landscape, and our role is to design in a way that elevates all of it. That perspective is what continues to guide my work today. I’m optimistic about where we’re headed, in the way we build, the materials we choose, and the methods we use. We’re moving back toward a more thoughtful way of designing, one that prioritizes wellness, balance, and a deeper connection to the world around us.
