The Scene by the Sea, the latest exhibition from the @thamesgroupofartists , kicked off this weekend at @beecroftartgallery . It’s a love letter to Southend’s music scene, told through art, sound, and storytelling.
My piece, titled Funny Skin, is autobiographical. It depicts myself and @lukeb_e9 as teenagers, moments before entering an underground club night—one that, unbeknown to us, would shape the years to follow.
Massive thanks to:
💥 @charlieshox – for all your hard work bringing Scene by the Sea to life
🚗 @busterabdthepigeons – for letting me borrow your car
🎭 Nathan Hubble & @kyle__malan – for modelling as young Henry and Luke
💨 @mrrosiere – for the additional smoke retouch
The Scene by the Sea is on now, running right through to 26th October.

Photographer Henry Knock shares his hot take on maths (and much more) in this week’s JobsWorth episode.

On JobsWorth this week, I sit down with London-based freelance photographer, Henry Knock.
Henry is one of a small handful of people who have managed to turn their passion into a career. I’ve been guilty in the past of labelling this exclusive group as ‘lucky’- yet we often forget that there’s an untold story of how they got there in the first place.
I’ve learned to replace ‘lucky’ with brave, courageous, tenacious, and a whole host of other words that don’t leave you feeling as if these opportunities just fell into their lap.
In Henry’s case, there was a time when he was confident he’d already landed his dream job. Yet, despite his love for the industry he was working in, he regularly felt overwhelmed, anxious and, in his own words, like he was ‘drowning’. For a lot of our followers, that might just resonate.
His career transformation started just as Instagram was in its infancy. For someone who now has over a decade of experience working with global sports, fashion and lifestyle brands, Henry’s first foray into photography all began on his iPhone.
We explore Henry’s experience of education and why he so often felt anything but inspired; what it was like growing up with two ultra-creative parents (and being predicted an F in GCSE Art); and his earlier jobs in hospitality and events.
We also talk about the realities of life as a freelancer, how you know it’s the right time to turn a side hustle into a full-time job, the resilience you need to deal with time between projects, and why there’s truth behind the proverb ‘never work with children and animals’.
Please enjoy… Henry Knock.

On this week's episode of JobsWorth, freelance photographer Henry Knock talks about the early days of Instagram- when the platform was used to foster a sense of community offline...as well as on it.
Our conversation with Henry lands tomorrow morning on YouTube and everywhere else you get your podcasts.

Well on this weeks episode, London based photographer Henry Knock, tells us how he did just that and much much more.

I recently missed out on a job because my portfolio was a bit lacking in children shots.
So I called up my niece and asked her to give me a hand.
The brief? Just have fun!
I get older, but the poses stay (mostly) the same.
While shooting a bunch of BBC Radio presenters last week, I jumped in on the action between talent finishing and arriving, and asked @rebeckaslatter to grab a shot of me. 📸
Swipe right for a similar pose from me in a not‑so‑recent photo.
I’ve got loads of shots I can’t wait to share from shooting stills + BTS on @frayedthefilm , but I wanted to start with this one of @alinaxallison from a dress rehearsal before filming kicked off.
I always enjoy working with Alina — we’ve done plenty of shoots together with her as a model, but this was the first time seeing her in action as an actor. A proper superstar in the making.

So grateful for all of your wonderful work
Can’t wait to screen on opening night of @bifa_film qualifying @kinoshortfilm on 22 August 2025
