for my 20th this year, i decided to do something a little bit different. (spoiler: nagdonate)
i saw a tweet a while back saying how they recently donated to WikiMedia, the nonprofit organization that hosts Wikipedia
in this current time and age where false information tend to overshadow factual content, all while generative AI remain unregulated, it is now more important than ever to support all efforts in keeping information more accessible for everyone.
i am aware that Wikimedia has more than enough to sustain itself for a few more years, but i still chose to donate a small amount mainly because i believe in the organization’s cause.
i also donated a small amount to the Internet Archives (archive.org) to support their mission of giving everyone unlimited access to knowledge, for free.
as i enter my 20s, i am making it my personal goal to value free and accessible knowledge whilst encouraging my peers to do the same.
