Next stop: the Maldives 🇲🇻
We’re settling into 14 dreamy days aboard the Malivadu to celebrate Weston’s 50th. Epic crew, perfect water temps, unreal sunsets, and the snorkelling has been next level. Small waves so far, but the good vibes are huge.

10 incredible days in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰✨
Huge shoutout to Savithri from Olanka Travel for making everything so easy—communication was spot on from the start. Our amazing driver and guide, Chamond, went above and beyond. Not only did we see all the must-see sights, but he made sure we had real local experiences too.
Loved every moment—from ancient temples to lush hills and vibrant markets. He even surprised us with a framed photo as a parting gift 🥹❤️
5 stars all the way. Sri Lanka, I’ll definitely be back! 🌴🦁🌅

Sigiriya to Kandy: A Day of Culture and Climbing
We kicked off the day scaling Sigiriya—Lion Rock looms over the plains like an ancient skyscraper. The climb was sweaty but worth it for epic views and ruined palaces at the top. The engineering was incredible, with ancient water and irrigation systems creating swimming pools and rock-carved fountains.
Then it was on to Kandy. We caught a traditional dance show—drums, bright costumes, and fire eaters stealing the spotlight. A quick stop at a gem factory showed off Sri Lanka’s famous sapphires.
Unfortunately, we missed the cricket - sold out!
The next morning we visited the Temple with the Tooth Relic. Soft lighting and morning prayers created a calm, reverent atmosphere. Inside, Buddha’s sacred tooth is kept in seven golden boxes, one nestled inside the other.
Another jam-packed day exploring! First stop was a beautiful Hindu temple, followed by a ride by bullock cart and boat to a traditional village. We took part in a cooking class using age-old methods and equipment, all prepared over a wood stove carved into the benchtop. Lunch was sensational.
Afterwards, we watched elephants amble across the plains, such impressive creatures consuming around 250 kg of grass, 120 L of water, and walking up to 25 km daily. Sorry, not sorry for the flood of elephant photos! 🐘
Day 3 – Top Notch!
Started the day with a stunning sunrise over the beach and breakfast alongside a curious baby gecko.
Enjoyed what was probably the best snorkelling experience I’ve ever had—no leaks in the mask, warm water, and plenty of colourful fish, an eel, and even a turtle.
Wrapped it up with a home-cooked seafood lunch prepared by a local family: cuttlefish, crab, whole Trevally, prawns, and rice.
Absolutely brilliant day.
