From an unfinished series I was working on a few years ago before I left California. Familiar figures that represent a feeling of home for me. I'm grateful to my friends for welcoming me into their families and allowing me to document them.
This one is a portrait of Lola Eva in her backyard.
This would be the first and last time I got to meet Lola Eva before she passed a year later. I often think about how special this evening was.
