🌊 Let’s Organise Your Leisure (LOYL) is making a splash at Cairns Festival! Led by Queensland artist Kathy Mackey and her energetic Squad.
“I’m thrilled to be presenting Let’s Organise Your Leisure in a man-made lagoon so close to the natural shoreline,” says Kathy. “It really explores the liminal spaces and places of leisure.”
LOYL is a gentle group class meets playful public artwork, with floating sculptures made from pool noodles and a whole lot of colour. 🎨🧘♀️
“This project began with a casual observation of fit, older folk doing Aqua Zumba, there are so many ways to consume art, but fewer to make it—especially for over 50s. LOYL hopes to change that.”
