This weekend I skated my last National Championships in Bergen -10 years after my very first in Asker. Somehow I’m already the “old one,” but I’m really happy with my skate and finishing 4th. The level has grown so much across all categories over the years, and it’s been amazing to witness!
Skating has always been more than jumps to me. It’s edges, music, flow, joy, friends, growth, the list goes on. I hope I can motivate more skaters to stay in the sport even without the big jumps -if you love it and your body lets you, that’s good enough!
I’m endlessly grateful for my coaches, teammates and my family, who have supported me through all these years on the ice. I don’t know who I am without skating yet, but I guess I’ll figure that out when the season’s over or whatever….
