Happy April! March came in like a lion and out like a lamb. Social media can sometimes feel like something that draws us apart, but this March was a beautiful reminder of how it can bring us together. After years of being online acquaintances and growing into great friends during the crazy days of 2020, Sarah and I finally got to meet Christian (
@1924us ) and his wonderful wife Elle
@ellemaywatson in real life!
They’ve been living in Australia, but made a stop in Newport as they gear up for his new book deal with Penguin Publishing for his Skelly artwork. (So incredibly proud and excited for them both!)
We had the absolute best time showing them our world. We took them on the grand tour cruising down Ocean Drive, marveling at The Breakers, stopping by our store on Bowen’s Wharf, visiting our favorite restaurants, and grabbing drinks at all our favorite local coffee spots and bars.
It was a weekend filled with long heart-to-hearts and just enjoying the company of two incredibly down-to-earth, humble people who genuinely want to make this world a better place. I have so much respect for their photography, their art, and who they are as human beings.
A huge thank you to the
@vanderbiltauberge for hosting us. We are in Newport all the time, but rarely take a weekend to actually stay in town. The accommodations were gorgeous, the food was amazing, and the incredible staff made the weekend that much more special.
If you aren’t already, please go give Christian and Elle a follow at
@1924us @ellemaywatson to check out their journey and art. Can’t wait to see you guys again soon! ⚓️🏴☠️☠️🎃🖤
