📚 Announcing this year’s #IndieBookshopWeek Ambassadors! We’re thrilled to introduce our first Ambassador for Independent Bookshop Week 2026 (13-20 June). ✨ Kit de Waal ✨ Author of The Best of Everything “Independent bookshops bring people together at the counter, at events, in those long, unexpected conversations and that sense of connection is as nourishing as the books themselves. They quietly protect the simple joy of reading for pleasure: the browsing, the discovery, the feeling of walking out with a story you didn’t know you needed.” 2026 marks 20 years of Independent Bookshop Week; an annual moment to celebrate the cultural, community and social value of independent bookshops across the UK and Ireland. Whatever you’re into, there’s a book for you. Just ask your local bookseller. 📖 With thanks to our headline sponsor @hachetteUK #ChooseBookshops

The 2026 Climate Fiction Prize shortlist is here! 🤩 📚️ In its second year, the Climate Fiction Prize, supported by @climate__spring , brings together six spectacularly wide-ranging novels for its 2026 shortlist, exploring the climate crisis, and our response to it. From experimental literary works, folklore and reimagined myths to science fiction and generational family sagas, this year's shortlist once again showcases the limitless creative interpretation of climate fiction. There was a striking focus on themes of community, resilience and agency, alongside humour, hope and anger at injustice - reflecting how the climate crisis is being felt across the world - and close to home. The 2026 Climate Fiction Prize Shortlist: *Dusk - Robbie Arnott (@robbie_gc_arnott , @chattobooks ) *The Tiger’s Share - Keshava Guha (@keshavaguha , @johnmurrays ) *Awake in the Floating City - Susanna Kwan (@soupsanna , @simonschusteruk ) *Hum - Helen Phillips (@atlanticbooks ) *Endling - Maria Reva (@revawrites , @viragopress ) *The Book of Records - Madeleine Thien (@maddiethien , @grantabooks ) Thank you to our fantastic judges @drfrediotto @kitdewaal @savidgereads @arifa.akbar and Jessie Greengrass.
