First up we celebrate the runners of the weekend 🏃🏼‍♀️ Going long Haydn and Scarlett took on the trails of Somerset at the 50k Ham to Lyme Ultra Marathon, strong day out for both athletes in a game of pacing and mental toughness. Well done to Mike who has worked hard to build some speed and managed a PB to a sub 40 10k at Porthcawl 10k, well done coach Adam! A half marathon in the bank for Simone as we build not to Berlin marathon. Great performance with spot on pacing! And back to Triathlon, Well done to Tom for an AG win at the British Olympic distance in Bristol 🥇 Next up we ✈️ to Challenge Roth 🩷 💙

A week in Lanzarote done 🌋☀️ It’s been fantastic to spend the week here welcoming some of our athletes — not just from the UK, but also catching up with athletes visiting from abroad. Opportunities like this remind us how valuable it is to work together in person. It’s been a proper Lanzarote week too… plenty of wind! 💨 But that’s all part of the process. We’ve focused on adapting to conditions, adding some extra training volume, building bike-handling skills in the wind, breaking down swim technique, and continuing to develop resilience. Most importantly, it’s been brilliant to see the progress being made and to kick off the build towards race season with real momentum. Nothing quite beats the value of face-to-face coaching, shared sessions, and time spent learning together. Excited for what’s ahead this season 🩷💙

There are a LOT of triathlon coaches right now. So what makes one better than another? Honestly… not a lot. Most coaches can write a solid program. Most understand zones, intervals, race prep. What actually makes the difference? ✔️ The relationship ✔️ The accountability ✔️ The trust ✔️ The conversations on the tough weeks ✔️ The belief when you’re doubting yourself Choosing a coach isn’t about finding “the best.” It’s about finding the one you gel with. Because triathlon isn’t just swim-bike-run. It’s life, stress, work, family — and how someone helps you navigate all of it. Find the coach that fits you 🩷💙

Hands up if your counting down the days to training camp! Can’t wait to be back in Lanzarote next month coaching a week of @totaltritraining camp, open air swimming pool and no need for multiple layers for bike and run. Always one of the best weeks of the year. #trainingcamp #triathloncoach #triathlontraining #swimbikerun #sunshine

End-of-January blues are real… but so is community. Triathlon training in the dark, cold weeks isn’t always glamorous—early alarms, tired legs, and motivation that comes and goes. But showing up with friends, leaning on your people, and sharing the grind makes all the difference. Some days it’s not about hitting perfect splits—it’s about the laughs mid-session, the encouragement when you’re flat, and knowing you’re not doing it alone. Grateful for the team we have and this community for carrying us through the hard miles. Already this year we have had track sessions, swim sets and social meals out. Whilst the floods may be driving us to the treadmill this week we are excited for the drier, brighter days to come! #JanuaryBlues #TriathlonTraining #StrongerTogether #TrainingTribe #WinterMiles

Saddle mapping ??? Why do it ? I often get clients in wanting saddle mapping because they find there saddle uncomfortable. 9 out of 10 times it’s not the saddle that makes them uncomfortable but a poor fitting bike !!What do I mean by that ? The factors that contribute to the discomfort are :- 1:Saddle to high 2:Saddle angle 3:Too much drop(the stem being too low) 4:Stem to long 5:hoods in the wrong position for support. The problem with having a stem too low and too long changes the position of the pelvis ,tilting it too far forward creating perennial pressure ,causing numbness and also causing rubbing on the sides of the “bum cheeks”! Only as a last resort ,checking all of the above along with saddle width then do we change the saddle once the bike is fitted correctly .#bikefitting#saddlemapping#geobiomized#totaltritraining

Annual bike fit ✔️ A bike fit isn’t a one-and-done thing. As your body, fitness, and goals change, your position should too 👌 Back with @kit_walker_tri at @total_bikefit to fine-tune the details — this time dialling in my new bars and saddle. Any time you change contact points, it’s worth getting things checked properly. Small adjustments make a big difference to comfort, efficiency, and performance 🚴‍♂️ Thinking about a bike fit or new components?
