“A deep dive into the pursuit of purpose through the lens of stand-up comedy. The Hustle of Funny follows six comedians from the DMV area as they navigate the highs and lows of building a career on the D.C. comedy circuit.”
First film festival and first @deadline mention (!!!) 🎉
I’m so grateful to finally share our doc with the world and see it on the big screen!
In my own pursuit of purpose, I’ve always been drawn to the drive people have to chase their dreams. I saw that up close in D.C.’s comedy scene, and I knewww I had to tell this story.
The only goal was to just finish the film and submit it to a festival and the fact that we were selected makes it all the more special. I thank God for exceeding expectations lol❤️.

My dreams have been my greatest love story to date.
It’s fulfilling and slightly addictive to see an idea in your head exist in the real world outside of your brain. And sometimes it feels just as scary as it feels good.
I’ve created things and tucked them away and just moved on to the next thing and never really soaked in the accomplishment of fruition. And much like in love, pursuing my dreams can feel scary, but it’s always worth the risk. At the end of the day, it’s a love that’s worth pursuing and sharing regardless of the fear of failure.
I found this poster a few years ago and the message really stuck with me about how you don’t even realize how much you’re destined for at the beginning of your journey. In fact, I don’t have a clue what God’s plan will look like for me in the end, but I’ve always felt like it would exceed the big dreams I’ve fallen in love with from a young age. Despite the uncomfortableness of feeling ~perceived~ I wanna share more of this love that I’m so grateful to have and nurture.
In 2021, I accomplished one of my dreams and started my own production company @missioncreativeproductions . I’ll be sharing more of our work over there if ya wanna see what we’ve been working on💖🎬
📷: @chlo.tographer thank you again for capturing my vision and helping me bring this idea to life!
Ironically my fav part of 2021 I barely got any pictures from😭. But I started my production company and officially became self employed and produced a sold-out variety show with my bestie @yeakelsss . Shoutout to God and my community for the never ending support from starring in my short to buying tickets y’all are much appreciated❤️ Can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next🥂
