Zmizelé krajiny, ulice, budovy a lidské tváře vypráví příběh o paměti, ztrátě, hledání a plynutí času.

𝙄𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣: Film, Archives, and the ongoing Nakba ➫ ★ Screening of short films and a discussion with the curatorial collective Kino Palestine / @kinopalestine and filmmaker Theo Panagopoulos / @theos_perspective ☆ Films constructed from archival materials depict Palestine in the 1930s under British colonial rule. Through images captured by a foreigner, we recontextualize everyday civilian situations of that time from the perspective of a Palestinian born in the diaspora. On May 14, we will also commemorate the Nakba—the mass displacement and dispossession of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓮𝓮𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓶: Tiberias (1935), 9 min / A Land with a People: A Palestinian Counternarrative (2025), 14 min / The Flowers Stands Silently, Witnessing (2024), 17 min ★ The program will be held in English. The event also includes a curated selection of Palestinian literature at the ArtMap bookstore. 📍 Kino CIT, Radnická 4 🫂 14/5, 18:30

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mohammad Bakri (1953–2025), a founding figure of modern Palestinian cinema and theatre. With Kino Palestine, we had the honor of welcoming him twice for screenings and Q&As of Jenin, Jenin and Wajib. He leaves behind a lasting cinematic and cultural legacy. 🇵🇸
