Managing invasive species is a constant effort on King Ranch to preserve the habitats of the native wildlife. Feral pigs are an invasive species that cause extensive damage to agricultural lands, vegetation, and water sources. Responsible hunting is one of the methods used to control their population and mitigate their negative effects.

Chon's Barn is named for Encarnacion "Chon" Utley Sr. He came to work at King Ranch in 1918 in his late teens, where he remained for almost 50 years. Chon is part of the initial group of men who prepared Santa Gertrudis cattle for the show ring and auctions. When the Barn stopped being used for cattle training, the Ranch carpentry crew used it as a storage and work area. One of Chon's sons, Encarnacion Jr., was a carpenter for King Ranch and worked in the Barn building items needed throughout the Ranch.

El Kineño is the 1950 hunting car that belonged to seven-term U.S. Representative from Texas’ 14th-congressional district, Richard M. Kleberg Sr.. Kleberg’s grandson, Mike Reynolds, commissioned a replica of the vehicle to be built over seven years starting in 2016. Reynolds enlisted Jay Robertson, owner of South Texas Outfitters in San Antonio, and Elvis Portillo. Robertson and Portillo then called General Motors to find the original report and accompanying 250 photos to learn how to build the car that Harley Earl designed decades before.
Every piece of the car was custom cut by hand. The final product comprises a 2005 Suburban, two 1952 Buicks, and a 1949 Buick. The doors on the replica were switched to suicide doors to be easier to get in and out of, unlike the original. Every piece down to the whiskey bar in the back was recreated.
Reynolds said, "It was originally supposed to be a casual salute to my grandad and the original car. But when Jay and Elvis got a hold of it, it turned into this incredibly beautiful project.”

Situated next to the Laureles Division of King Ranch, Baffin Bay is a productive fishery thanks to its low freshwater inflow and high water salinity. A large portion of Baffin Bay is covered in seagrass, while other portions are blanketed in shoal grass with spotted rocky outcrops. This vegetation, along with the prevalent circular reefs, provides a great habitat for the 37 species of fish.

Weaning foals is the process of gradually removing them from the mare and transitioning them to a diet that does not rely solely on milk. Typically, weaning occurs when the foals are around four to six months old. It involves separating the mare and foal into separate pastures or stalls to reduce their physical and emotional dependence on each other. Weaning can be a stressful time for both the foals and their mothers, so it is important to provide them with a supportive environment and closely monitor their well-being during this transitional phase.
