💌 i turned 24 on 2/4!! 💌 this month has been filled with a whole lot of love. a lot of honoring of the inner child. i’ve always loved my birthday, i’ve always loved valentine’s day, and i’ve always loved the color pink (though most close to me know that my favorite color is green!!) 🩷💚🩷💚 this month has been filled with dancing, with community, with mutual aid, with self-discovery, and most importantly, with time. time to reflect, time to give back, time to grieve, time to smile, time to be present. knowing that in truth, time is ours. to have and to hold. in a world where everything feels so urgent, so loud, so abrupt, so endless, so hopeless, it is important to remember *why* we are fighting. to gaze into another’s eyes, and know that they have your back. to celebrate queerness in a way that feels affirming and safe. to make art that holds all of your deepest, darkest fears, but also your most wildest dreams. there is space for all of it. we just have to gift ourselves that time to take it all in again. it has been wonderful becoming an observer. to notice when i drift off somewhere new. to meditate on a cloud, bask in an angel number. it’s made this celebration of life all that more special. thank you to all you came out and celebrated, in any capacity. thank you for all of your beautiful messages. thank you for inspiring me to keep taking up space in this world. 24 has been absolutely beautiful and real as hell and authentic and frustrating and awesome. i am so happy to be here with you all, and continuing to take up space in all of the identities that i hold. happy birthday to me, happy Black history month, and happy returns to all of you. stay blessed. 💘💘💘
