We started this year preparing ourselves to have a baby. We excitedly collected memories towards this milestone, including a new family member, Rose - a little stray we rescued while hiking in Griffith Park. We all traveled to Austin & Boston to celebrate with loved ones. We bought a new couch big enough for everyone and waited for Carmen to come into the world… Before we knew it we were welcoming her into the pack! Then another surprise, we unexpectedly moved into the perfect new townhome mid December. Life was perfect. We decided to finish the year strong with a surgery to fix Princess Zaya’s floating knee cap on her hind leg. That’s when our worlds crashed down. We lost our heart on December 30th 2025 when Princess Zaya didn’t wake up from her anesthesia. We will never be over this loss but will try everyday to move forward through Carmen’s smile and the warmth from Ferguson and sweet Rose. Princess Zaya was born with deformities but they never held her back. She weighed only 4 lbs but commanded every room, and what may have seemed to be her flaws, to us they made her perfect. We will always love you, our little Princess ZayZay ♥️
