The 90’s!
The King County Fair thrived in the 90’s and to highlight it all we will need to break this weeks post down to cover 1990-1995!
The 1991 fair ran July 17-21 and saw over 270,000 fair visitors!
The 1991 fair entertainment line-up included: Lee Greenwood, Latoya Jackson, Jan and Dean, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band 🎤
In 1992 new bleachers were installed in the rodeo arena and fair admission prices were $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Parking was $3!
The 1995 fair attendance was 280,000 over the 5 day fair and the entertainment line-up included: Chris LeDoux, Collin Ray, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Paul Revere and the Raiders! 🎶🎶

Sunday morning at the King County Fair kicks off with one of our favorite traditions, Cowboy Church presented by @gracepointnw ✨🤠🎶 July 19th!
Gates open early (8AM) for free entry to Cowboy Church which begins at 9:00AM on the Main Stage!
The Gates do close again at about 9:15AM to prepare for our regular fair opening at 10:00AM!
Come early - then stay for all the fair fun on the final day of the 2026 King County Fair!

1981!
A big year for the fair—Shirley Heen stepped into her new role as King County Fair Manager! While the title was new, her dedication wasn’t. Shirley had already been a vital part of the fair since 1972, serving as secretary to the former manager.
The 1981 fair ran for 6 days, July 15–20, and welcomed an incredible 150,000+ visitors through the gates!
