We’re baaccck! On Saturday, May 16th we’re ready to drop our next big collab (us x you, of course 😉), for Sounds Familiar’s spring edition. To add more excitement to the mix, this time we’re at @thesoftspotpgh ! Join us (@kinellaeclipse and @saintsurrealista ) there from 5-9PM for another evening of hip-hop music, live performances, good eats, and even better company! Meet The EmBody Crew ✨ Kinella Eclipse (she/her) is an up-and-coming DJ in the PGH scene with a sound grounded in hip-hop and other related music. Her taste is influenced by her southern roots and local black and queer nightlife communities—some of which you may have seen her DJ with before, such as at SZR or her own event series, @soundsfamiliarpgh . Her love for being both in front of and behind the booth guides the sounds she plays as she continues to develop the dancefloor with those around her. DJing with EmBody provides an exciting opportunity for her to go on an authentic journey with some of the slower, sensual, spiritual tunes that have a place in her heart. Where are you at this Saturday, and what about next? I wanna see you two weekends in a row 🤭 First, this Saturday, April 11th, come defrost with me @theripple_pgh . From 6-8PM, I’ll bring you on a journey as we work to transition out of the chills of winter and help spring firmly plant its feet. At The Ripple’s Cozy Femme DJ Nights, enjoy some curated sounds while taking full advantage of the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge facilities on site—all ending right on time to set you up for a cozy night in, or a fun night out. Next Saturday, April 18th, meet me outside for the Spring Out the Vote! Voter Registration Block Party hosted by the Wilkinsburg Democratic Committee. From 11AM–2PM, come to Harold Young Sr. Parklet to register to vote, become more informed, meet some local candidates, and spend some time connecting with like-minded neighbors. Bring the whole family out and stay awhile to enjoy some tunes (by yours truly), food, vendors, and even face painting! okay but can we talk about how chill these nights actually are? You can dance…you can not dance. It’s the best. Cozy Femme DJ Nights are our little ritual every Second Saturday at the bathhouse. @saucequeen_phd and @venus_thedj envisioned and inspired this series to spotlight and build community around the growing talent in our region. Each DJ has 90 minutes to just cook. Affordable access to all amenities. It’s a vibe.
