May all beings be free from suffering 🙏🏻❤️
What makes the same act of riding in a vehicle so pleasurable for one, yet so horrible for the other?
Perhaps it’s because one got into the vehicle with the loving encouragement of a human they trust, while the other was forced inside with screams and sticks?
Maybe it’s because one is in overall better physical and mental condition, while the other is suffering physically and mentally, the result of a lifetime of inhumane living conditions?
Maybe it’s their sense of smell, leading them to detect traces of urine and blood from previous transports?
Maybe it’s that animals are good at reading our intentions? Detecting when we're peaceful or agitated? Loving or mean?
Whatever the reason, both are right to react as they do. For one will go on a nice trip and head back home, while the other will reach the scariest place on Earth, from which there is no return.
The way he looks at the worker who is filming him, begging for help...
It’s easy to get angry at the worker for not helping him, for working in such a place.
Yet in reality, by filming, he is probably helping to save more lives because these facilities rely on secrecy, on us never looking into these animals’ eyes.
