Analogue photography belongs on a wedding day for more than just how it looks. The aesthetic matters, of course, but film also creates a different kind of record, one shaped by limit, materiality, permanence, and the possibility of becoming part of your history rather than just another gallery on a screen. I wrote this piece for anyone thinking not only about the beauty of photographs, but about what will actually remain.

I’ve been thinking a lot about digital fatigue, analogue life, and why Greece still teaches the world how to be present.
So I wrote about it.
Greek Guide to Analogue Living is now live. It moves through Greek daily life, slow rituals, tactile culture, and why this country feels so right on film.

@theodoremagazine invited me into their In Conversation series, so I guess this is a good time to say hello again.
If you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been following my work for a long time, thank you. Truly.
In the interview, I share what I’m doing behind the scenes when things get real. How I work with intuition, how I protect the experience, and why the best photographs usually happen the moment you stop performing.
If you have a minute, please go read it and also support THEODORE. Their platform leads with love, and their commitment to inclusivity and equality is exactly what we need more of right now. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️💕

Athens postcards: a note on growth and love.
Love asks us to be present.
Not perfect, not polished, but honest enough to show up with care for the person we choose to stand beside, and for ourselves too.
This is something I keep returning to in my own life, and it continues to shape the way I photograph love: not only as a feeling, but as a practice of presence, courage, and growth.
An afternoon between these two in Athens. Paris, Florence, and Venice may be known for romance, but Athens has its own kind of love story to offer. 🦉🏛️

A short ferry from Santorini, I made an overnight trip to Paros. Sometimes the work is simply showing up.
The weather was touch and go, but he didn’t want to wait for the perfect moment. He trusted the one he had. Each moment together was perfect. So the wind kept moving and the clouds kept shifting, but none of it mattered.
It was just the two of them, and he asked her forever. 🤍

Καλό μήνα.
Welcome, May.
In Greece, the first of May is marked by weaving flower wreaths from what is blooming now. They are shaped by hand and hung on the door, bringing life, renewal, and protection into the home.
As this month begins, I feel that same sense of gathering. A time to awaken, to gather what is here, to stay curious, and to keep learning. A way to protect what matters.
And with that comes growth. The kind that takes patience and trust in what is just beginning to bloom. This month is a reminder to be gentle with ourselves, to protect our hearts, and to honour the life that continues.
There is always renewal. 🌿

Old digital film and 35mm stills.
A small experiment in making an urban engagement film with tools that once felt perfect.
Maybe that is the state of the world now. A return to what worked. Not perfect, but there was trust in it. And there is strength in that return.
There’s something about love that asks for less control.
As Sofia Coppola said:
“I wanted to do an intimate story between two characters… the idea that you can meet someone and spend two days with them and that can be just as important as someone you’ve known for years.”
The softness, the delay, the texture of it all feels closer to memory than perfection does.

What actually makes an elopement feel like this?
It’s not the view.
It’s the choices behind it.
We’ve planned weddings in the exact same spot that felt completely different.
Usually it comes down to things most people don’t think about:
Where the light comes from once the sun is gone ✨
(not during the ceremony, but after)
A setup designed for two, not adjusted from a bigger wedding.
Letting the timing follow the light, not the other way around.
Where the table is placed, not just how it looks,
And knowing when to stop, so the space doesn’t feel overdone
Nothing complicated.
But very easy to get wrong.
That’s usually the difference.
Save this if you’re thinking of doing something more intentional 🤍

Easter in Greece is deeply tied to place, and each place carries its own traditions. In Pyrgos, Santorini, particularly on Good Friday, lanterns are placed across rooftops, paths, and walls, gradually building until the entire hillside is lit. By the time the epitaph begins, the village has already taken on a different atmosphere.
The entire place embodies a somber feeling. The symbolism is heavy, carried through the light, the movement, and the ritual itself. It is something shaped by the people who live there and repeated each year, until the whole village feels absorbed into the procession itself.

Καλό μήνα & Hello March ☀️
March in Greece marks spring not because the calendar says so, but because people choose to mark the change.
On March 1st, we do it with a simple ritual: a red and white thread tied around the wrist called Μάρτης (Martis). The superstition is that it protects you from the early spring sun, so you won’t get caught by it as the light returns. It’s an old tradition, traced back to antiquity, and it carries a reminder that after winter, we forget how quickly the sun can burn our skin. ♥️🤍
So we wear the Martis as we step into the season with awareness, and as a reminder that renewal has intensity.
Welcome March. Here’s to stronger light, and a little protection. 😘
Weddings are slowly returning to what they were always meant to be.
More couples today are choosing intimacy over expectation.
Presence over performance.
Meaning over tradition.
Elopements and intimate celebrations allow space for something rare, a wedding shaped entirely around the couple and the experience they want to live together.
In Kimolos, this editorial was imagined as exactly that.
A setting designed with intention. A table for two. A moment that belongs only to them.
Because the most meaningful celebrations are not defined by size, but by connection. 🤍
The freedom to celebrate love exactly as you imagine it.✨
