One week ago the earth lost another angel. Bernice Cumbo Coles lived life on her own terms, fiercely loving, amazingly nurturing, unbelievable kind and even a little bit naughty. If you asked me to describe her in one word? I would say CONSISTENT. We met in the early 80’s at The Apollo and She was a bright shiny light, funny, sweet, thoughtful, joy filled and kind. And over the years, EVERY time we were in the same room, whether the rooms had cameras or not… she was consistently the same Kiki I had met all those years ago. A living doll. A living legend. And Consistent. This one hit hard, y’all. I will miss her and I honor her as a sista who was such perfect and lovely reminder that you can choose joy as you live your Legendary Life.
