Over the weekend at Kings Bluff, you may have noticed new parking lot lines in the cul-de-sac! Phase 1 of the parking lot was completed and phase 2 will begin this week. The SCC ( @seclimbers )is always looking for ways to help make our southeastern climbing areas better for our communities. Adding parking lot lines at the bluff will help give visitors better guidance on how to add more space for cars and get more people inside the gate before we have overflow.
As the climbing season ramps up with this warmer weather, please consider carpooling when we can and keep the gate, fire hydrant, and trailhead access vehicle free.

@jeezusarnoldoh & @cronkky_ and I tried to hike the Art Loeb only to find there were forest fires all throughout the Blue Ridge and Pisgah National Forest at the time.
We did a last minute overnighter at a spot that meant a lot to the three of us from our younger days. Always a great time hiking on the balds of TN/NC!

The Great Pumpkin Pedal presented by Patagonia Nashville! It was an excellent turn out with over 50 people coming together as a community to ride in costume on the downtown streets of Nashville! People were baffled and amazed seeing a pumpkin headed rider and even a lite up Tron cyclist fly past them on Broadway. Complete with giveaways, a costume contest, and a scenic route, this ride was definitely one to remember!
Cherokee National Forest, TN. 2024 & 2025
I’m quite lucky to be friends with so many interesting people and as a photographer, I realize more and more that I want to tell their stories. One such person that has shared a lot of his time and skills with me is my childhood buddy, Bo Arrington. From his conservation priorities to his abilities as a master arborist, Bo puts his passion for nature into every fiber of his being. One of those passions is spending time fishing for trout. He regards himself as a flyfishing bum which is fair, because you can ALWAYS find him somewhere in the Appalachian mtns with a fly rod, rain or shine! We’ve recently made multiple trips in the Cherokee National Forest looking for rainbow, brown, and especially brook trout. On our last trip, we were grateful to catch the autumn colors throughout the forest!
Also, want to give Patagonia a shout out! I’ve gotten to spend a lot of time outdoors with him and one thing I noticed on this last trip was that he was clad from his boots & waders to his jacket in Patagonia gear.
