A few more from this weekend's birding adventure 🥰

Birding season is coming in hot this year... Many thanks to this Goldeneye for procrastinating on his migration north. I've never had the opportunity to see one and golly I sure do love me some unique ducks in little ponds. I really love this capture and I'm thinking it'll be a submission to the audition photo contest next month 🤞 Many more birds to come over the next several weeks. Buckle up, kids.

So my greenhouse is pretty much at max capacity already which means I need to unload some tomato starts on y'all so I can squeeze more stuff in there. I have: 3 pineapple 5 Comstock 3 bread and salt 3 Golden King of Siberia 2 Black Brandywine These plants are HEALTHY as heck and growing pretty fast which is why I need to unload them early. Don't put them in the ground yet, however they are hardened off from living in the greenhouse during the day for the past several weeks so they can sit outside but brought in at night. I watered them with compost tea this morning so they should be good for a bit. Let me know if you want some!!

I grew a weird fruit in my kitchen! My fishbone cactus flowered back in September so I decided to hand pollinate it to see what would happen. It worked and grew this unusual looking fruit! It tasted like kiwi and green apple. So good!!!

No matter the pace, the air is warming & the first green shoots are bringing us closer to late spring. Soon enough, blessed Beltane will be upon us; and with it, another exciting Earthwoven community ritual! For Beltane, we welcome back @kimbuglycreations ! A returning favorite facilitator from last year, Kim is an earth artist and a lover of both dirt and sky. An avid birder, forager, photographer, and insect enthusiast, she embraces the natural world around her with gusto and deep reverence. She moves through the forest with ease, curiosity, and open ears, enthusiastically teaching others to listen as well. In this beautifully aligned seasonal celebration, Kim will lead us in flower crown weaving! Together, we’ll gather blooms & intentions to become ancestral adornments of renewal, fertility, and the wild joy of spring.  As always, we’ll all also gather around a lush snack spread of homemade garden to table gluten free nibbles, alongside a Gate & Garden custom blended ritual tea as we imbibe in a opening story circle around the living altar.
